The Shoe and Me dont work well together. If they had 8-characters, I think ours clash. The summarised unfortunate incidents that happened between us are as below:
1) The sneakers that i wore to Japan decided to open its "mouth" on the 2day of the trip. Needless to say, they were the only pair of footwear i brought there. So, i had to borrow yx's extra pair of shoes for the whole trip.
2) A pair of green flats bought from Bugis street was like worn out only after 4-5 wears? While walking around town, the elastic rubber at the back came off from the right shoe and stringy thing tripped me a few times. I couldn't find a pair of scissors and as I yanked at it more rubber came off.
3)Malu incident 1:
I was wearing a pair of sandals (that resembled a "ren2 zi4" slipper) bought from Malaysia Truly Asia.I didnt doubt the quality since it was bought from a departmental like store and not a pasar malam. The family and I were crossing the long stretch of road at Chinatown, between Yue Hwa departmental and Hotel 88. I think the traffic light is notorious for starting to count down so quickly after turing green. So, after crossing barely 1/3 of the road, it started counting down and my mum told me to walk faster. I took long big strides instead of running and then the sandals failed on me...When I lifted my foot, i realised it was only my bare foot w/o the sandal.*gasp* The strap that stapled the "ren2" to the base has actually broke! Since the traffice light had already start couting down from 5, (my family were all in front and didnt witness what happened which made it even more embarrassing), so instinct told me to take off both sandals, pick them up, and run across barefooted. It was a Sunday and the road was like busiest stretch with so many people crossing and so many cars waiting to pass through. I hope no one remembers me.At the other end, the parents finally notice what happened and blame was on me for choosing such a sandal.Anyway, i tried dragging my feet which looked more like limping to the restaurant we were heading to. I gave up and walk barefooted. But at the restaurant, it seemed impolite to be barefooted and hence i did the limping again and the captain of the restaurant noticed the state of my sandal.
Thankfully, my mum went back to OG and got me a new pair. And guess what, she got another "ren2 zi4" sandal which the parents claim the strap is thicker and wont break. -.-
4) Malu incident 2:
Occured on Tuesday. I brought 2 pairs of sandals( one birk inspired and another one of a totally different design) onto the car for a change since it was raining heavily. I got to school, hopped off the car hurriedly and made a dash for the shelter. After walking for awhile, I looked down and realised i was wearing a different sandal on each foot. I had not noticed cos they felt the same on my feet. How intelligent. Even mandy says " how could this ever happen". Fortunately, I had 2 consecutive lectures only that day and they were in the same LT; thus minimized movement around school. lol, but i did receive a stare while at the ladies and probably a few others which werent visible to me.
Malu incident 1 and 2 happened within weeks of each other!
