as the days goes by, hopes of the guy being caught is diminishing....quick! catch him!
anw, had my psychology mid terms (all mcqs) today. So ironic, but the Psychology mid terms is really a PSYCHOLOGY test on us. Seriously, they predicted our normal answering examn qns behaviour and techniques and set questions that went against them.they even deny us of processes that the psychology textbook recommend for remembering things!
1) there were 7 different versions of the same paper. questions were the same but arranged in different order. hence, even though i think there is very low possibility of students cheating ( i think good of people =) ),this method 100% prevent any cheating la. the people within one or 2 chair radius away from you definitely wont have the same version of the paper.
2)questions were arranged randomly, as in it does not go by topic. it prevents the chunking processing here! textbook recommend remembering information by chunks. I guess if its normal mcq ,qns in the same topic might trigger your memory and allow you to recall and recognise some info for the later qns. But not here! different topics scattered around the whole paper, so for every qn you have to search in your brain what topic it belongs to..
3)negative marking in place. 0.2 marks deducted for wrong answer. therefore, often meeting situtations of to answer or not to answer?
4) 100 mcqs- mentally tiring. diminishing marginal returns. i realise i didnt know how to do more qns as i proceeded through the paper.
so in conclusion, teachers are smart but psychology teachers are much much smarter.they probably have done much psychology research on how to set qns. this is such a dumb dumb pointless entry.
